Salman Khan, one of the most beloved actors in the industry, is known for the respect and kindness he carries in his heart for his co-stars, both on and off-screen. Recently, actor Rajeev Verma, who played Khan’s father in the iconic film ‘Maine Pyar Kiya‘, reflected on how Khan has remained unchanged over the years. Verma fondly remarked that Salman is still the same person he was years back, saying, “Wo baccha abhi bhi waisa hi hai” (That kid is still the same).
In an interview with Vistaar News, when asked if the veteran actor is still in touch with Salman, Rajeev said,“Zikr nahi karte lekin wo bachcha abhi bhi waise hi hai.Ye cheez usme hai aur khas taur se humare Madhya Pradesh ke logo me hai. Wo apne buzurgo aur seniors ka abhi bhi us tarah se izzat karte hain. Aur unse abhi bhi kabhi kabhi mulaqat ho jaati hai.” (We don’t speak about it much but that kid still is the same. This is one special trait of him, which is often seen in people hailing from Madhya Pradesh. He to date respects his elders and and seniors. And yes, we do meet sometimes.
Rajeev Verma mentioned their shared roots in Madhya Pradesh, as Salman was born in Indore, which is also his father Salim Khan’s birthplace, while Rajeev hails from Narmadapuram.
On the work front, Rajeev has appeared in several popular Hindi films, including ‘Hum Saath-Saath Hain’ (1999), ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’, ‘Kya Kehna, Koi… Mil Gaya’, ‘Chalte Chalte’, and ‘Aarakshan’.
Salman Khan was last seen in ‘Tiger 3‘, directed by Maneesh Sharma, the movie also starred Katrina Kaif and Emraan Hashmi in key roles.
Next, Salman will feature in AR Murugadoss’s ‘Sikandar‘, for which he is currently shooting. The film also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Sathyaraj, Prateik Babbar, and Kajal Aggarwal. ‘Sikandar’ is set to hit theaters on Eid 2025.
