‘Stree 2‘, the sequel featuring Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana, is making waves at the box office. Directed by Amar Kaushik, the horror-comedy has garnered praise from fans and critics alike. In a recent revelation, Abhishek Banerjee, one of the film’s stars, shared an interesting tidbit about Rajkummar’s improvisation that had a huge impact on the film’s budget.
During an interview with Fever FM, Banerjee disclosed that while filming a scene, Rao spontaneously incorporated a segment of Rema’s hit song ‘Calm Down‘, particularly the “Low Low Low” part. This unplanned improvisation proved expensive for the filmmakers, as it required them to secure the music rights at a whopping cost of Rs 25 lakh. Banerjee humorously referred to this as “Itihaas ka sabse mehnga improvisation” (the most expensive improvisation in history).
Abhishek expressed his appreciation for the film’s commercial success, acknowledging its importance in the industry. Reflecting on ‘Stree 2’s success, he noted the challenge of living up to the legacy of the original ‘Stree’. He admitted that while he anticipated the film would do well, its monumental success was beyond his expectations.
