Bollywood actor and politician Govinda accidentally shot himself in the leg last week. He was taken to the hospital and discharged on October 4 after treatment. Rajya Sabha MP and Republican Party of India president, Ramdas Bandu Athawale, visited Govinda at his home in Juhu to check on him. Athawale also shared photos from the visit on his social media.
Govinda, known for his iconic roles in films like ‘Hero No 1’, was hospitalized after accidentally shooting himself in the leg with his licensed revolver early on Tuesday, October 1.The incident happened around 4:45 am while he was getting ready for a flight to Kolkata.
After proper medical treatment, the actor was discharged, he expressed his gratitude to the medical staff, politicians, media, and fellow artists who supported him during his recovery.
Recalling the incident, the 66-year-old star stated, “Thoda gehra lag gaya tha, laga tab vishwas nahi hua, aisa laga ye kya ho gaya (The wound is quite deep. It was quite shocking.) I was leaving for a show in Kolkata at around 4:45-5 am. At that moment, my gun fell and fired. I felt a jolt and saw blood coming out.”
He further shared that the accident should not be linked to anything else.
The accident left everyone shattered and several celebrities like David Dhawan, Shatrughan Sinha, Raveena Tandon, and Rajpal Yadav, arrived at Hospital in Juhu, Mumbai.
