Producer Ramesh Taurani recently reminisced about Ranbir Kapoor’s professionalism and dedication to his work. He described Ranbir as “such a good actor and human being,” recalling their time on the set of Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani in Ooty. The shoot lasted about 35 days, with the team working long hours.
Taurani shared that the entire crew would leave their hotel at 7:30 a.m.since it took over an hour to reach the set. Some days, they shot from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., including night shoots. Despite returning to the hotel late at night, Ranbir always arrived on set on time the next morning. “He never complained or asked to leave early. He was accommodating throughout the shoot,” Taurani shared.
Taurani also recalled a memorable conversation with Ranbir’s father, the late veteran actor Rishi Kapoor. Although Ranbir had already agreed to do the film, Taurani wanted to narrate the script to Rishi due to their strong bond from working on films like Damini.

Rishi responded, “Mujhe kyun sunaate ho? Ranbir ne okay kiya hai toh banaao picture (Why are you narrating it to me? If Ranbir has agreed, then go ahead and make the film)!” Taurani noted that Rishi preferred to keep his personal and professional lives separate and never visited the set.
Despite his blunt and honest nature, Rishi Kapoor loved the film after watching it, Taurani fondly recalled.
