Ramesh Taurani has defended Vashu Bhagnani amidst the ongoing BMCM row.

Ramesh Taurani has come out to speak in support of Vashu Bhagnani amidst the Bade Miyan Chote Miyan row. The movie and the production house came under fire after crew members claimed that they have not received their dues.

While Vashu Bhagnani’s Bade Miyan Chote Miyan did not work well at the box office, the movie, and the production house continue to make headlines till today. The movie and the production house came under fire after the technical crew claimed that they had not been paid by the makers. Additionally, the directors who have worked with Pooja Entertainment have also alleged that they have not received their dues yet. Amidst this, Ramesh Taurani has come forward and has spoken in support of Vashu Bhagnani.

In a conversation with Indian Express, Ramesh Taurani spoke in defense of Vashu Bhagnani and his production house. He mentioned that there might be a “misunderstanding” and that all matters would be sorted out soon. He said, “Whatever happened will be cleared up and they will move forward. I don’t think he’s the kind of producer who would do something like this. He’s been around since 1995. I have never heard of him doing something like this with anyone’s money before. I think it’s a misunderstanding, and they’ll make sure it’s sorted out.”

Recently, Rakul Preet Singh was asked about Bhagnani at the 2024 IIFA Awards. The actor did not answer the question and walked away from the media. Ronit Roy, who worked on Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, said that he got the payment after delays. Speaking to Zoom, the actor said, “I am lucky to have got a large part of my acting fees for my work on Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. The money was supposed to come from Vashu Bhagnani and it came from Vashu Bhagnani, but that happened only after Himanshu Mehra (who works with the BMCM director Ali Abbas Zafar) intervened. When it came to the dues of my staff and my security company that guarded the sets in Mumbai, it was all very much delayed and we got that also due to Himanshu Mehra.” The actor added that he would not like to work with Pooja Entertainment in the future.

The row around Pooja Entertainment intensified when Ali Abbas Zafar, Tinu Desai, and Vikas Bahl filed a complaint against the production house. The matter also reached the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE). However, the Bhagnanis have filed a complaint against Zafar accusing him of “criminal conspiracy” and “misappropriation of funds”.
