Ranvir Shorey CLARIFIES about his remark on Jaya Bachchan's 'Thaali' comment during lockdown: 'I must have been quite angry...' | Filmymeet

Ranvir Shorey, known for his impressive acting chops in films like Lootcase, Ek Tha Tiger, Sonchiriya, and Khosla Ka Ghosla, recently grabbed attention with his appearance on Bigg Boss OTT 3. Always vocal online, Shorey once took a strong stance against Jaya Bachchan’s comments on the nepotism debate in Parliament during the lockdown. Now, he’s revisiting the issue, adding another layer to the ongoing conversation.
During the height of the nepotism debate during the lockdown, Jaya Bachchan criticized those labeling the industry with that term, implying that actors were undermining the very platform that supported them.Ranvir responded sharply, pointing out that the opportunities in the industry are often reserved for insiders, leaving outsiders like him to struggle for their share.

In a recent interview with Siddharth Kannan, Ranvir clarified that he never specifically commented on Jaya Bachchan’s remark about the industry. He explained that his previous statements were reactions to the widespread debate at the time and were meant to express his own perspective on the situation.

The actor reflected on his past comments about the ‘thaali’ remark, admitting he was likely fueled by anger at the time. He mentioned that while he had received praise for his pointed social media posts, he now prefers to express himself more directly rather than sarcastically. Shorey acknowledged that his previous remarks were driven by frustration and hurt over perceived unfair treatment.
