Remo D'Souza still can't understand his heart attack: 'I never smoked, partied hard or drank...my wife Lizelle keeps checking up on me'

In 2020, filmmaker and choreographer Remo D’Souza faced a life-altering moment when he was diagnosed with a 100 percent heart blockage, leading to a heart attack. The incident was a shocking surprise to Remo, who had always been mindful of his health.
Speaking to Hindustan Times, Remo said, “We still can’t figure why this happened to me. I exercise and take care of my body, I have always done that before too.But I am more careful right now. I never smoked, partied hard or drank. This can happen to anyone, anytime.”
Since his heart attack, Remo has made significant lifestyle adjustments, particularly with his diet. According to him, initially it was a bit difficult for him to make changes. He said that nowadays, most people’s diets include a lot of packaged and canned foods, which need to be avoided. Instead, he recommended eating natural foods, and then there would be nothing to worry about. He added that being mindful of one’s eating habits is crucial to preventing such health scares.

Remo agreed that his family was also mentally affected by the incident. He mentioned that he had to constantly reassure them that everything was fine, and his wife Lizelle would often check on him. He stressed that one’s family is a crucial support system during difficult times, and his family, including his wife and children, were very supportive.
“One major reason for heart attacks is stress. With a supportive family around, you overcome that. My advice for everyone reading this would be always look out, your body gives you signs when something is not right,” he added.

Despite the health scare, Remo’s work hasn’t slowed down and he still does everything the same way.
