Filmmaker Rohit Shetty, known for his action thrillers, has worked with some of the finest talents in the industry. From Ajay Devgn to Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ranveer Singh, Shah Rukh Khan, and Deepika Padukone, his movies have featured the A-listers of the B-town. In a recent interview, Rohit Shetty delved into his approach to casting, emphasizing that the essence of a role often precedes star power.
When recently questioned about his knack for assembling ensemble casts for his films, Rohit Shetty in his interview with Pinkvilla shared that his ultimate satisfaction doesn’t come from landing big names but from seeing actors, for whom roles are meticulously crafted, embody those characters. Shetty stated, “I am always happy and satisfied about that rather than being ‘See, I got this star to my film.’ More than that, it’s like ‘We have written and thought of this actor to play this character and they’re performing this.’ That is the satisfaction that you get.”
On the one hand, where his casting approach has got him in the limelight, on the other hand, it was the wrapping of the shoot of ‘Singham Again’ that kept him in the news lately. He commemorated the occasion with a touching video, celebrating the enduring legacy of his ‘Singham’ franchise. The video included a heartfelt message: “Today we complete 13 years of Singham and look at the magic of destiny. Today we also wrapped Singham Again with Ajay sir. This is my 13th film with him as a director but the journey began back in the 90s when I was working under him. 33 years later and we are still going strong. See you at the cinemas this Diwali.”
Accompanying the video was a poignant caption: “13 years of Singham, 33 years of brotherhood @ajaydevgn #SinghamAgain.”
