Odia singer Ruksana Bano died while she was reportedly being treated for Scrub Typhus at the AIIMS hospital in Bhubaneshwar on September 18th. The 27-year-old artist was reportedly battling Scrub Typhus, a bacterial infection transmitted by mites, although the hospital has not officially confirmed the exact cause of her death. However, her family believes there is a conspiracy behind her demise.
Ruksana had fallen ill about 15 days ago while shooting in Bolangir. Her sister, Ruby Bano claimed that Ruksana had consumed some juice that suddenly fell ill. She was first admitted to a hospital in Bhawanipatna on August 27.
She was later referred to Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital in Bolangir. She was later shifted to a private hospital in Bargarh as her condition worsened and finally brought to AIIMS Bhubaneswar for further care as per news reports.Her family claimed foul play and alleged that a rival singer from western Odisha had poisoned her. Though they did not reveal this alleged rival’s identity, they did state that Ruksana was threatened by some people. Her mother released a video message expressing suspicion and the video soon went viral on social media.
