Anupamaa recently took a six-month leap, treating viewers to dramatic twists and turns.
Anupamaa continues to secure a top spot across TV channels. The show currently features Rupali Ganguly and Gaurav Khanna in the lead roles. It recently took a six-month leap with major changes to the plotline. Not only this! The makers of the show will soon introduce a new face. Sonal Khilwani, who played the role of Shravani Thakur in Shravani, is all set to join the show. While speaking to a leading media outlet, Sonal confirmed that she has auditioned for the show.
During a chat with Pinkvilla, Sonal shared, “Yes, I have given an audition for the show; however, I haven’t gotten a confirmation regarding the same from the production team.” According to the portal, a source revealed that Sonal has indeed secured her role.
Anupamaa’s six-month leap has brought major changes to its storyline. The separation of Bapuji (Played by Arvind Vaidya) and Baa (Played by Alpana Buch) as well as Anuj (Played by Gaurav) and Anupama (Played by Rupali) has left fans in shock. Bapuji chose to stay with Anupama, while Baa remained with Vanraj (Played by Sudhanshu Pandey).
Vanraj is running a successful business, while Anupama has found a new home at Asha Bhavan, an NGO for the underprivileged. However, her love and concern for Anuj and Aadhya persist. Gaurav’s character Anuj is going through a heartbreak. He wanders the streets, unrecognisable and broken, having lost his will to live. His condition is so dire that he fails to recognise himself.
The makers of the show have released a new promo featuring a reunion between Anupama and Anuj after six months. The promo begins with Anupama visiting a temple. She expresses her concern over Anuj and Aadhya’s whereabouts. She then comes across a person playing a basuri in the same temple, prompting her to approach him. This is when Anuj and Anupama finally meet after the six-month separation. However, Anuj leaves without saying a word.
The promo was shared with a caption, “Jiss Anuj ko 6 mahinon se nahi mili Anupama, wo itefaaq se aaya hai uske saamne. Ab inki kahani kya mod legi?”
Sonal Khilwani started her entertainment journey as a contestant on Star Bharat’s show Swayamvar Mika Di Vohti. Later, she appeared on several shows such as Sanjivani 2, Shravani and Bindiya Sarkar.
