The daily soap has reportedly been failing in the TRP charts. As a result, the makers have now decided to take it off air.
Imlie is a popular television series that has captured the hearts of viewers with its storyline and characters for some years now. Earlier, in order to revamp the show, the makers decided to rope in Sai Ketan Rao and Adrija Roy as the leads and introduce a third generation leap. The equation between the two actors worked well, and the showrunner introduced various plot twists to keep the viewer engaged. However, reportedly, the daily soap has been failing on the TRP charts. As a result, the makers have now decided to take it off air.
Produced by Gul Khan under the banner of 4 Lions Films, Imlie started airing on Star Plus back in 2020. With the show’s ranking dipping consistently, a report by ETimes mentions that there were reports that a new generation could be introduced and new actors would be roped in. Another suggestion to save the show was to change the time slot. But, Gul Khan told ETimes that they are not going to execute any other strategies. She stated, “It’s had a great run and now it’s time to wrap it.”
Imlie was first launched with Sumbul Touqeer and Fahmaan Khan as the key performers. Their unique coupling and chemistry won over the audience’s hearts. However, they quit the show eventually, resulting in a massive generational leap. During this time, Megha Chakraborty and Karan Vohra took on the lead roles. After their exit, the leads are currently played by Sai Ketan Rao and Adrija Roy.
Meanwhile, Sai Ketan Rao was involved in an accident while filming a vital shot aboard a moving bus as per a report by Times Now. “The safety and well being of our cast and crew are our utmost priority and we are taking all necessary precautions to ensure a swift recovery for Sai,” a source told the publication. Despite taking safety precautions, Sai Ketan was hit by a tree and sustained minor bruises and wounds around his eyes. According to reports, the shoot was paused and the actor was transported to the on-set medical staff for first assistance. However, following his initial treatment, the actor resumed shooting.
