Saif Ali Khan recently opened up about his relationship with his children – Sara Ali Khan, Ibrahim Ali Khan, Taimur Ali Khan Pataudi, and Jehangir Ali Khan Pataudi and the importance of spending quality time with each of them.
Speaking to India Today, Saif shared that his older kids, Sara and Ibrahim, are already actors or aspire to be actors, admitting that he would be nervous standing in front of the camera. He said that his youngest child is a natural performer and knows exactly where that trait comes from. “There’s no pressure, though. For me, they could be school teachers; as long as they’re happy, that’s all that matters. And that’s what we need to teach them,” he added.
Saif also revealed a recent conversation with his son Ibrahim, who asked him for advice about relationships. While Saif kept the details private, he stressed telling Ibrahim to take relationships seriously. He mentioned that Ibrahim discusses his work and relationships with him, while Sara focuses on work conversations, and the family enjoys going out for meals together.
“My elder son [Ibrahim] recently asked me something about girls, and I had to give it some thought before responding. He wanted to know how seriously to take his relationship at a certain stage, and I told him to take it very seriously at all times. I’d be doing him a disservice if I shared more about our conversation. He discusses his work and girlfriend/s with me, while Sara talks to me about her work. Of course, they ask me things, and we often go out for lunch,” he said.

He added, “For me, the key is spending quality time with each of my children, including the two kids [Taimur and Jeh] I live with. I enjoy hanging out with them individually, not just as a group. I think they’re all more sorted because of this approach.”
On his relationship with the paparazzi, Saif explained that while they are polite, sometimes they can be intrusive, recalling an incident when they entered the lobby after a party. However, he mentioned that his little kids get a little frightened when they chase their cars. He humorously talked about the “finances behind the paps” and hinted that some celebrities pay for coverage, though his family hasn’t. He described the idea of paparazzi having a “rate card” as both funny and unsettling.
On the work front, Saif Ali Khan is gearing up for the release Devara: Part 1, where he plays the role of Bhairava. The film, starring Jr NTR and marking Janhvi Kapoor’s Telugu debut, will be released on September 27.
