Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has reportedly purchased another brand new bulletproof Nissan Patrol SUV for approximately Rs 2 crore.
According to Pinkvilla, this is an attempt to enhance his security as death threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang surface.
This SUV had been imported from Dubai and boasts of cutting-edge safety features including bomb alert indicators, fireproof glass that can withstand gunfire, and tinted windows to increase privacy.
This is Khan’s second bulletproof vehicle purchase from Dubai and part of his efforts to improve security.
Salman has increased his personal security after NCP MLA Baba Siddique, a close associate, was shot dead in Mumbai on October 12, 2024.
The Bishnoi gang, which threatened Salman, demanded Rs 5 crore from him recently to “save him from a worse fate” than Siddique.
The Bishnoi gang has been targeting Khan ever since the actor was involved in the blackbuck poaching case, where he killed a deer species considered sacred by the Bishnoi community. The gang has reportedly demanded an apology from Khan, warning of severe consequences if he fails to comply.
The Mumbai Police have also taken extra precautions to ensure his safety. As part of his security detail, he would have eight or ten armed officers accompanying him. To this effect, the command center has been mounted at Khan’s Galaxy Apartments to make any suspicious activity or movement noticed there and alerted for effective control.
Meanwhile, Salman has again begun shooting for the next season of Bigg Boss 18 amid tight security and is preparing his next movie, ‘Sikandar’.
