Sanjay Leela Bhansali was supposed to make ‘Inshallaah’ starring Salman Khan and Alia Bhatt. However, after making the announcement, the film eventually got shelved. Bhansali whose last project was ‘Heeramandi’, got immense accolades from all over. And now he has announced ‘Love and War‘ with Alia, Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal. While Sanjay and Alia collaborated on ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’, Bhansali recalled in an interview recently that Alia was hugely affected as ‘Inshallah‘ got shelved.S
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Bhansali opened up about the emotional toll it took on Alia. He said, “she broke down, she cracked up, cried, raved, ranted, and locked herself in a room.” He revealed further adding that his approach to work with actors is that he find raw essence in them as performers. That’s what was channeled in ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’. He said, “From LA, where I was supposed to play the character in Inshallah, I suddenly found myself in Kamathipura. I didn’t know if I could do it.”

Meanwhile, at the moment, Alia is gearing up for the release of her film ‘Jigra’ which also sees her in a fierce avatar. It stars Vedang Raina alongside Alia and he plays her brother.
The movie is slated for release on October 11 and is directed by Vasan Bala.
