Actor and politician Govinda accidentally shot himself in the leg with his gun on October 1 while heading to an appointment. He was immediately rushed to the hospital and is currently recovering.
Soon after the incident, several celebrities and close friends of Govinda shared their concerns and sent well wishes for his recovery. Film director David Dhawan, actor-producer Jackky Bhagnani, and actor Shatrughan Sinha were among the Bollywood celebs who paid a visit to the injured actor.
After meeting Govinda, Shatrughan Sinha spoke to the media and said, “He is stable; his condition is good… It was an accident. There are no ifs and buts in accidents…He received treatment.”
A while ago, Govinda’s wife, Sunita Ahuja, visited Criticare Hospital to check on her husband, who sustained a bullet injury on the leg from his revolver. Speaking with media, Sunita shared Govinda’s health update, saying he is “better” and will be discharged in two days.
“He is better. We will admit him to the normal ward today. He is much better than yesterday. He will be discharged the day after tomorrow. With everyone’s blessings, he has recovered… He has a great fan following, so people are praying for him…I would like to tell the fans to not panic; he is fine,” she said.
Govinda’s manager, Shashi Sinha, explained that the actor was preparing to leave for Kolkata when his revolver slipped from his hand, causing a bullet to accidentally fire. He has sustained a bullet injury below his knee.
Govinda, one of Bollywood’s most popular actors, made his acting debut in the late 1980s. While he started his career in action and drama films, it was in the 1990s that he truly made his mark in comedy, becoming a household name.
