Shibani Dandekar and Farhan Akhtar tied the knot in a dreamy wedding at the Akhtar farmhouse, in the presence of their close ones. In a recent chat, Shibani opened up about their relationship and going through therapy.
While speaking to her close friend and actress Rhea Chakraborty on her podcast, Chapter 2, Shibani recalled going for therapy during courtship days. She stated that it was like going to the gym as you have to keep working on it and added, “We got married on a Monday. Our signing was on a Monday and our next scheduled appointment was on a Wednesday. I remember we walked in and our therapist was like ‘Why are you guys here? You just got married like 24 hours ago’?”
Shibani also reflected on the positive effects of couple therapy and stated that during arguments, she prefers to resolve them immediately, while Farhan tends to wait until their therapy session to discuss the issues.
In the same conversation, Farhan opened up about his divorce from Adhuna Bhabani. The couple had been married for 16 years and share two kids – Shakya and Akira. Recalling the challenging period, Farhan had shared, “I feel tremendously guilty towards them when Aduna and I are divorced because it had nothing to do with them. So they are the kind of like collateral damage in some emotional way.”
On the work front, Farhan Akhtar is busy shooting in Leh for 120 Bahadur, which is being helmed by Rajneesh Razy Ghai. Post this, the actor will take over the role of a director, to call the shots for his most ambitious project Don 3, starring Ranveer Singh in the lead role.
