Shraddha Kapoor- Rajkummar Rao’s Stree 2 mints its lowest on 40th day | Hindi Movie News Filmymeet

Stree 2 has now gained the iconic status of Hindi Cinema’s second biggest hit, and is all set to beat Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan for the first spot in the next few days. The film has had a glorious run at the box office for the last 39 days, where it has gone on to mint Rs 577.50 crore, making it only the second Hindi film ever to cross the Rs 550 crore mark.

But on the 40th day, the film’s collection fell to its lowest ever, it added just Rs 1.35 crore, as per early estimates by Sacnilk, thus taking the overall collection of the film to Rs 579 crore.This is only the second time in its 40 day run that collection of Stree 2 has fallen below the Rs 2 crore mark. It happened last week on Thursday where it had collected just Rs 1.65 crore.
Stree 2 now requires another Rs 3.31 crore to cross the record set by Jawan, and claim the top spot of Hindi cinema’s biggest hit. Even when Stree 2 beats Jawan’s collection in Hindi, there would not be any change in its position in the list of Indian Cinema’s biggest hits, where the 5th position is strongly held by Jawan with Rs 640.25 crore, and it seems Stree 2 will find it difficult to cross that mark.

Stree 2 is part of Dinesh Vijan’s horror comedy universe which already has Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon through Bhediya, Abhay Verma and Sharvari via Munjya, and soon, vampires will be joining them via Ayushamann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna’s film, directed by Aditya Sarpotdar. And, makers are also hoping to put together a spin-off on Shraddha’s character to explain the backstory of Stree. The film also features Aparshakti Khurrana, Pankaj Tripathi and Abhishek Banerjee.
