At a News18 Shiv Shakti conclave last year, Shraddha Kapoor said, “100%, Absolutely that’s me. I love sharing when I am having my Poha, I love sharing when I am enjoying my cup of Chai in my little cup which I am so attached to that every day I am like, ‘Is my cup Ok, Is my cup Ok’ and people know that. I love sharing, what did I have for dinner.”
When she was asked if there was something like oversharing, she said, “I feel very fortunate for the kind of relationship that I have developed with my well-wishers and fans. I will be very honest with you, I think it’s extra special, if I may say so. We have like-minded thoughts even when I go out somewhere and someone tells me, we have the same handbag I saw on your post, someone would say we have the same trousers, we have the same kurta and it’s so nice to feel like one big happy family.”
While on Shraddha, her movie ‘Stree 2’ which released on Independence Day, has really gone all berserk with its numbers. People cannot stop praising the film and the numbers coming in, also just don’t seem to stop. After a huge weekend box office, the film started seeing a dip from Monday onwards which was quite natural. However, the raksha bandhan holiday also benefitted it and it made Rs 38 crore on Monday.
It started significantly dropping from there on but has continued to remain in the double digit numbers. On Thursday, which was day 8, ‘Stree 2’ made Rs 16 crore. The total collection so far after 8 days is Rs 290.85 crore. Thus, with the Friday numbers coming in, the film will be crossing Rs 300 crore at the domestic box office. Meanwhile, worldwide, it has already crossed Rs 400 crore.
‘Stree 2’ also now has a relatively open ground over this weekend as well with no big movies releasing. Hence, there is scope for it to show growth on Friday night and Saturday, Sunday shows. Hopefully, the film will make the most of it.
Meanwhile, the other two films ‘Vedaa’ and ‘Khel Khel Mein’ which released on Independence Day as well, have not been able to match up to the business of ‘Stree 2’. Also because they released in lesser number of screens. ‘Vedaa’ has made Rs 17 crore so far in 8 days, while ‘Khel Khel Mein’ has clocked in around Rs 19 crore.
