Shraddha Kapoor’s Stree 2 drops by more than 50 % on 5th Monday | Hindi Movie News Filmymeet

Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao led Stree 2 has already become the sixth biggest film of Indian Cinema, and 2nd biggest Hindi film of all time. The film is now chasing the record set by Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan, in both the categories and given that no big Hindi film is on the horizon, it should easily cross that mark.

The film in its first four weeks, minted Rs 539.35, and over the weekend, added another Rs 15.5 crore , taking the overall collection to Rs 555.45 crore.But on its 5th Monday, the film crashed by more than 50 % from its Sunday collection of Rs 6.75 crore, to collect just Rs 3 crore as per early estimates by Sacnilk. Thus, the total collection of the film till now is Rs 557.85 crore, and it requires another Rs 24.50 crore to beat Jawan, and become the highest grossing Hindi film of all time.
And to replace Jawan from the 5th position of Indian Cinema’s biggest hit, Stree 2 will need to cross the box office collection of Rs 640.25 crore, which at this point looks difficult with NTR Jr, Saif Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor’s Devara releasing next week, and Alia Bhatt’s Jigra along with Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri’s Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video releasing on 11th October, on the occasion of Dussehra.

Stree 2 also features Abhishek Banerjee, Aparshakti Khurrana, and Pankaj Tripathi, with special appearances by Varun Dhawan, Akshay Kumar, and Tamannaah Bhatia. The makers are considering a spin-off focused on Shraddha Kapoor’s character, exploring the backstory of Stree.
