Amar Kaushik directed and Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao led Stree 2, written by Niren Bhatt, has been busy making box office history since the day of its release. The film has already become only the 9th one to enter the Rs 500 crore club, and only the 5th Hindi film to do so. The film on its journey, till now, has decimated many films, and its run still seems to be far from over; it is currently the second biggest Hindi film after Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan.
Stree 2 in its first three weeks, earned Rs 503.25 crore, and in the fourth week, it added another Rs 36.01 to its kitty, beating the number set by SRK’s Jawan, which was at Rs 35.63.
While it performed stupendously over the weekend, it witnessed a major dip during the week, but stayed put with an average of Rs 3 crore over the 4 days. The total collection of the film now stands at Rs 539.26 crore.
The sequel to the 2018 hit film Stree has set many benchmarks, however, it has failed to cross the week 4 collections of two of the biggest films of India, that is KGF 2 and Baahubali 2. Yash starrer KGF 2, directed by Prashanth Neel, had minted Rs 46.89 crore in its fourth week across languages, with Hindi contribution at Rs 22.75 crore and SS Rajamouli-Prabhas’ Baahubali 2 had collected Rs 56 crore with Hindi contribution at Rs 29.40.
Stree 2 is now in the race to become the biggest Hindi film of all times, and break into the list of five biggest film of Indian Cinema. The film also featured Abhishek Banerjee, Aparshakti Khurrana and Pankaj Tripati with guest appearances by Varun Dhawan, Akshay Kumar and Tamannaah Bhatia.
