Shriya Pilgaonkar opened up about her character Radha in the upcoming season of The Broken News starring Jaideep Ahlawat.
As the highly anticipated second season of the gripping newsroom drama ‘The Broken News’ gears up for its release, Shriya Pilgaonkar, who portrays the character of Radha, opens up about her profound connection with the role and the challenges it presented.
In a candid statement, Pilgaonkar revealed that she feels Radha’s character is like a trampoline, full of roller-coaster emotions. In the second season, Shriya will be seen performing various intense and terrific scenes. When asked about how difficult it was to shoot them, Shriya recalled, “I have lived Radha so intimately in season 1 that I didn’t have to try it at all. For certain characters, you don’t have to actually be in that position to portray them. For example, I didn’t have to go to jail to feel that side and then essay the role. For me, in that moment, she was feeling hurt and betrayed, and I strongly believe that at some point in time, all of us in our lives have felt that way. Hence, it was not so difficult for me. Also, when you have such great co-actors, half of the job is done. I can only say that it’s exciting to see this girl, Radha, in that position because it is always a trampoline to everything that happens after.”
While the first season witnessed Radha navigating the ideological battle between the rival news channels ‘Josh 24×7’ and ‘Awaz Bharti,’ the upcoming season promises to take the story in a new direction. Directed by Vinay and written by Sambit Mishra, the show will explore the consequences of Radha’s actions and the ripple effects they have on the newsroom dynamics.
The trailer provides a glimpse of the fierce rivalry between Radha Bhargava (portrayed by Shriya Pilgaonkar) and Dipankar Sanyal (portrayed by Jaideep Ahlawat). Radha, who was falsely labeled as a terrorist in the first season, is driven by a quest for vengeance against Dipankar.
