Siddhant Chaturvedi is gearing up for his film ‘Yudhra’. The actor rose to fame with ‘Gully Boy‘ co-starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, but post that, it was ‘Gehraiyaan’ which changed things for him. But did you know that Siddhant was also supposed to be a part of ‘Brahmastra’ with Amitabh Bachchan, Ranveer Singh and Alia?
In a recent interview, Siddhant has revealed the real reason why he left the movie and it had to do with his father.The actor told Humans of Bombay, “It was at a very initial stage at that time, I was a nobody, a struggler, so who am I to say no to Ayan Mukerji, Dharma, and Brahmastra?” Siddhant added that the film was still in writing when he was approached and he was quite excited. However, his father did not allow him to do the movie.
Siddhant revealed, “I could have done it as well, but my father wouldn’t have let me. ‘You are better than this,’ he says, even till today he pushes me.” He added, “I told my father the film has Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Amitabh Bachchan and he asked me, ‘Toh tujhe kaun dekhega (so, who will notice you)?’,” Siddhant said adding that his dad got him thinking about it as the script was yet to arrive. The actor recalled his dad’s statement, “Nahi beta, I don’t think you should do it. Do you have the script, have you auditioned for it? If you don’t even know what you are going to do in that film, don’t sell your destiny.”
The actor though, was in awe to have signed a three-film deal with Dharma Productions. A similar situation happened during ‘Gully Boy’ as he was sharing screen space with two big actors and would have gotten overshadowed again. But this time, he had to crucial scenes in the movie, hence his father was convinced.
