Singham Again‘ had a good first weekend with a number of around Rs 121 crore after the first weekend, despite facing competition from ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’. Both these movies were in the list of the most anticipated movies of the year and they surely did live up to expectations. Even ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ made Rs 106 crore over the first weekend, thus the total of both these movies, lead to a great weekend for the industry and the exhibitors especially. They gave the industry the highest grossing combined weekend number ever, thus, surpassing the ‘Animal’ and ‘Sam Bahadur’ weekend where the total weekend collection was Rs 190 crore.
But the real test was on Monday. One did expect some bit of drop which was natural post the Diwali weekend but yet, ‘Singham Again’ has passed the test. It had a dip of around 50 percent on Monday but the trade considers it as quite normal after a grand holiday weekend like Diwali. This shows that there is positive word of mouth. On Sunday, the movie had made Rs 35.75 crore, while on Monday, it has clocked in Rs 17.50 crore. The total collection so far, in 4 days, now stands at Rs 139.25 crore according to Sacnilk.
Meanwhile, the Monday number of ‘BB 3’ is also the same the ‘Singham Again’ which is Rs 17.5 crore. The total collection of ‘BB 3’ in 4 days is Rs 123 crore. Clearly, it’s a great sign that both these movies were able to generate a double digit number on Monday right after the Diwali weekend, despite facing severe competition from each other. Like they say, a good entertaining movie will always be lapped up by the audience, irrespective of the clash.
‘Singham Again’ boasts of a star-studded ensemble which includes Deepika Padukone, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Tiger Shroff, Arjun Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Akshay Kumar, apart from Ajay.
