Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal, got married on June 23 after a 7-year long hush-hush romance. Since tying the knot, the couple has not been holding back on the PDA in their posts on social media. In a recent interview, the two even spilled the beans about their wedding day and recalled a rather ‘special moment’ during the ceremony.
In an interview with Galatta India, newlyweds Sonakshi and Zaheer revealed that during their Kanyadan ceremony, they heard the Azaan playing while the pandit was reciting mantras, describing the moment as ‘divine intervention’.
Zaheer shared, “I think it is the best moment of my life, and it was so beautiful. The Kanyadan had been delayed by 15 minutes, and when we finally sat down, I held her hand, and we were praying.”
He further continued, “Suddenly, Sona said, ‘Can you hear that?’ I asked, ‘What?’ She replied, ‘The Azaan is on,’ and it was such a beautiful moment. The pandit was praying, reciting the mantras, and the Azaan was playing in the background as we were getting married. It felt like divine intervention.”
In a new interview with ETimes, Sonakshi expressed her wish to wed Zaheer sooner, but added, “better late than never.”
Sonakshi expressed her immense happiness about her marriage, saying it felt like finally being home and said that she enjoys spending time with her hubby, who she called her “best friend”.
“So, I love being at work, being my own person and running back home and going to him. I wish it would happen soon but better late than never,” the actress added.
On the professional front, Sonakshi was recently seen in ‘Kakuda,’ which released on July 11. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, known for ‘Munjya’, the film also stars Riteish Deshmukh and Saqib Saleem.
