Television actor Nitin Chauhaan, known for his stint on reality shows Dadagiri 2 and MTV Splitsvilla 5, passed away at the age of 35 at his Mumbai Apartment on November 7. The news of his death was confirmed by his former co-stars and friends. As per their accounts, the actor allegedly committed suicide.
The news of Chauhaan’s sudden death has sent shockwaves in the industry. Chauhaan’s co-star from the 2022 show Tera Yaar Hoon Main Vibhuti Thakur shared a heartbreaking post for the actor. Sharing a black and white picture of herself posing with Chauhaan on her stories the actress wrote, “Rest in peace, my dear. I’m really shocked and sad. I wish you had the strength to face all the troubles. I wish you were mentally strong like your body.”
Taking to Instagram, actor Ssudeep Sahir also mourned his demise. He shared a picture of Chauhaan and wrote, “Rest in peace buddy.”
Talking to Times of India, one of Chauhaan’s close friends Kuldeep confirmed the news and said, “We got to know about Nitin’s death this morning when his father and sister contacted and informed us that he had committed suicide. We are equally shocked as he was planning to come Delhi to next month and we had plans of going to Khatu Shyam ji’s temple together.”
The 35-year-old actor is survived by his father and sister.
Chauhaan, who originally hailed from Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, rose to popularity after winning the reality show Dadagiri 2. Later, he appeared on several other shows, including MTV’s Splitsvilla 5 and episodic series such as Zindagi Dot Com and Crime Patrol. He last appeared in the TV show Tera Yaar Hoon Main in 2022 alongside Vibhuti and Ssudeep Sahir, which premiered on SAB TV. The actor has also appeared in a few episodes of Saavdhaan India and Gumraah: End of Innocence.
