‘Stree 2’, starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, has dominated the box office. With a surprise appearance by Akshay Kumar, the film left viewers excited for the next instalment in the franchise. Amidst all of this enthusiasm, Bhumi Rajgor, who plays the titular character in ‘Stree 2’, recently talked about the possibility of a third movie and its possible plot.
During a conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Bhumi talked candidly about her experience working on ‘Stree 2’ and her thoughts on the potential for a face-off between Akshay Kumar and herself in the rumoured ‘Stree 3’. “I’m not sure yet, but looking at the film’s reception, I’m hopeful there will be a Stree 3,” she shared. She laughed and continued, “I have to admit, I’d be a little scared to go up against Akshay Kumar—he’s a martial arts expert after all!”
Bhumi also shared some fascinating behind-the-scenes information, such as the fact that the movie’s whole script was not disclosed to her. The filmmakers kept her role a secret, even from her, in order to preserve the mystery surrounding her character. She revealed, “Everyone assumed Shraddha was Stree, and the truth had to be kept a secret. I didn’t even get to read the full script—I only got to see the climax on the assistant director’s phone during the shoot.”
Along with these disclosures, Bhumi also shared a humorous anecdote about the distinct vibe on set. The actress claimed that every time an actor arrived on set, a fun ritual among the filmmakers was to play a song that was associated with that character. “Since I was playing a ghost, songs like ‘Gumnaam Hai Koi’ would be played. The actor would start dancing, and everyone would join in. It really helped create a fun mood on set,” Bhumi recalled.
Amar Kaushik‘s directorial, ‘Stree 2’, was released in theatres on August 14 and has since been a huge hit. The film also stars Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Abhishek Banerjee, Pankaj Tripathi, and Aparshakti Khurrana in pivotal roles.
