Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Stree 2 continues to rule the box office and is in no mood to slow down anytime soon. The horror drama opened at the box office with a whopping Rs 51 crore and since then, it has maintained a decent run.
Enjoying a clear stay at the ticket windows, the film added Rs 2.75 crore on its fourth day to its collection, taking the total to a whopping Rs 539 crore.Stree 2 has managed to clock in this impressive figure over 29 days. The overseas collection of the film stands at Rs 122.10 crore, taking the global gross collection to Rs 762.50 crore. Stree 2 has emerged as the biggest hit in the career of Rajkummar Rao.
The actor has already moved onto his next project, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video. At the trailer launch of this film, Rajkummar Rao acknowledged the massive success of Stree 2 and said, “We all are very happy that Stree 2 has done so well. With such huge (box office) numbers coming out, it proves that so many people went and watched it. I thank them for their love. I have received a lot of love from the audience. I have received so many congratulatory messages and calls. I was emotionally very vulnerable when people said that it felt like a personal victory to them. Many people have said that they have felt ‘humari hi jeet hui hai, it is not just your win’. Many of them had attached their journeys with mine and they said that my journey gives them hope. It was overwhelming for me.”
Rajkummar further added that the numbers have not changed anything for him, “Nothing has really changed for me since. I am still the same person. Three days after the film released, I went and started shooting for Malik. I love what I do and that will never change. Whether my film earns Rs 500 crore, Rs 5000 crore or Rs 100 crore, that does not change (anything) for me at all. Woh film ki kismat hoti hai. You have to do your work with sincerity. I have done that from the very beginning, from my first film till now, and I’ll continue to do the same.”
