Sunny Deol and Shah Rukh Khan met and hugged each other during the success party of ‘Gadar 2‘. That was a huge moment as the superstars had not spoken to each other for 16 years. It was being said that they did not speak to each other after a heated argument during a scene in Yash Chopra‘s ‘Darr‘. Aditya Chopra was the assistant on the movie and Sunny and SRK had to do an action scene during the climax.In a recent interview, action director Tinu Verma spills the beans on what had actually happened.
Everyone knows that SRK played the antagonist in the movie while Sunny played the hero, paired opposite Juhi Chawla. Recalling this action scene towards the climax, Tinu said on Ishaan Verma’s podcast, “Sunny said he can’t attack me from the front because I am a naval officer. Sunny was right in his logic. Shah Rukh said I am not Shakti Kapoor, Prem Chopra, Gulshan Grover that I will attack on the back.”
The situation got tensed eventually as SRK was stubborn and refused to budge, said Tinu, further adding, “Sunny got so angry eventually that he had his hands in his pocket, and he pushed is hands so hard that his pants tore. Everybody was shocked. Shah Rukh was also there. And then pack-up was announced.”
Post that, both the actors did not speak to each other. A while ago, on ‘Aap Ki Adaalat’, Sunny had opened up on this incident. He had said, “I had a heated discussion with Yash Chopra regarding that scene. I tried explaining that I am a commando officer in the film. My character is an expert and fit, then how can this boy beat me easily? He can beat me if I can’t see him. If he can stab me while I am looking at him, then I won’t be called a commando. Soon, out of anger, I didn’t even realise that I had ripped my pants with my hands.”
However, Sunny said that it is not the reason why he didn’t speak to SRK. “It’s not that I didn’t talk but I just cut myself off and I anyway don’t socialise much. So we never met, toh baat karne ki baat he nahi hai,” said Sunny.
