Over the past few years Telugu Cinema and Hindi Cinema has been able to create a space for itself in the United States of America, the biggest market for Indian films outside of India. But when it comes to Tamil Cinema, only a few names like Thalapathy Vijay or Rajinikanth, generate a strong buzz. However, currently Sivakartikeyan and Sai Pallavi’s Amaran has been going strong, as it crossed US $ 1 million in the territory. And now, all eyes are set on the next Tamil film Kanguva which stars Suriya, Bobby Deol and Disha Patani.

The film is slated to release on 14th November, and with just 6 days away from its premiere shows, it has been receiving a lukewarm response from the audience. The film has just managed to sell over 3800 tickets from its nearly 1100 shows, collecting a total amount of US $ 83,749 ( Rs 70 lakh) for its premiere shows. In comparison, Pushpa 2 which is almost a month away, has sold five times the tickets and collected six times the money till now.
The film needs a serious change of fate to make any kind of impact at the box office. Kanguva is a fantasy action film directed by Siva, and is backed by K. E. Gnanavel Raja who last produced Chiyaan Vikram, Parvathy and Malavika Mohanan starrer Thangalaan.
