Tahira Kashyap‘s directorial debut, Sharmajee Ki Beti, has been well-received on social media, garnering a lot of attention and love. In a recent revelation, Tahira shared insights into her discussions about cinema with her husband, Ayushmann Khurrana, at home. She mentioned that while Ayushmann didn’t particularly enjoy the books she has written, they have always maintained mutual respect for each other’s work.
Talking with DNA, Tahira mentioned that she and Ayushmann have a healthy understanding of having individual thoughts, which actually helps strengthen their relationship. She shared Ayushmann’s reaction to her writing, “At times he considers what I write blasphemous but then too bad. He was not very happy with the books that I’d written but they were the best and did really well. I went ahead and wrote what I had to write.” For those unfamiliar, Tahira has authored two books: The Sins of Being a Mother and The 12 Commandments of Being a Woman.
When asked whether they discuss cinema at home, Tahira confirmed that they do. She added that it doesn’t feel like work for them. Both are super excited about sharing their scripts with each other. Ayushmann has his stories and narrations, and Tahira goes through all the scripts because she loves reading.
Recently, Ayushmann took to Instagram to share an appreciation post for his wife and wrote, “Your soul reflects in everything you touch which is why #SharmajeeKiBeti is such a special film. You fought through the most difficult time of your life during the journey of this film. Maybe this is why #SharmajeeKiBeti is such a heart-tugging story.
