Thalapathy Vijay has unleashed a box office juggernaut with his penultimate film The Greatest of All Time, directed by Venkat Prabhu. The film is not only weaving magic in India, where it is heading towards the Rs 200 crore mark before the end of the weekend, it is also holding on steady in the United States of America which over the past few years, has been dominated by Telugu films over Tamil films.
GOAT added nearly US $ 83000 into its kitty, taking the six day total of the film to US $ 2469634 ( Rs 20.7 crore) . The film is trailing other big ticket Tamil films like Rajinikanth’s Jailer and his own Leo: Bloody Sweet but with the weekend coming in, a major spike is expected taking the film to beyond US $ 3 million mark.
The total North America ( USA +Canada) gross collection of the film stands at US $ 3.72 million ( Rs 31.23 crore), with Canada’s contribution standing at about US $ 1.25 million.
The Greatest of All Time, featured Vijay in a dual role and has a star-studded cast of Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, and Meenakshi Chaudhary. Vijay will soon be taking a jump into the world of politics, he’s already formed his party, launched its flag and logo with Election Commission recognizing it as a political party last week.
