‘Thangalaan’ box office collection day 3: Chiyaan Vikram’s film surpasses Rs 50 crore globally Filmymeet

‘Thangalaan‘, featuring Chiyaan Vikram, premiered on August 15 and had a stellar box office debut. The film achieved record-breaking numbers on its opening day but experienced a notable dip on its second day, which was a working Friday. Nevertheless, ‘Thangalaan’ made a strong comeback on Saturday, significantly boosting its earnings. According to Cinetrak, the film grossed approximately Rs 14 crore globally on its third day, with Rs 10 crore coming from Tamil Nadu alone.After three days, ‘Thangalaan’ has accumulated a total of Rs 52 crore worldwide, surpassing the 50 crore mark and establishing itself as a strong contender at the box office. After announcing the impressive opening day figures, the makers have been quiet, with expectations for an updated box office tally following the completion of the film’s first weekend.
The film is poised to achieve another milestone on Day 4 (Sunday), with around Rs 5 crore already secured from advance sales. Despite the release of several new films in Tamil and Telugu, ‘Thangalaan’ continues to command a significant number of screens. The film is also set for a North India release on August 30, which could further boost its box office performance.
Directed by Pa Ranjith, ‘Thangalaan’ is a period-action drama featuring Malavika Mohanan, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Pasupathi, and Daniel Caltagirone alongside Vikram. The film’s music was composed by GV Prakash Kumar, and the cinematography was by Kishore Kumar. Meanwhile, ‘Thangalaan’ makers have officially announced the film’s sequel following the massive response from the audience for the film.
