The film earned Rs 1.15 crore [Hindi: 70 lakh; Hinglish: 45 lakh] on day one.On day two, it collected Rs 1.90 crore nett in India across all languages, according to early estimates. So far, the total collection stands at Rs 3.05 crore. The Buckingham Murders had an overall 15.70 percent Hindi occupancy on Saturday.
Directed by Hansal Mehta, the film stars Kareena Kapoor, Ash Tandon, Ranveer Brar, and Keith Allen. It marks Kareena’s debut as a producer and is also co-produced by Ektaa Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor under Balaji Telefilms and TBM Films.
Set in the UK, the film follows Sergeant Jasmeet ‘Jass’ Bhamra (Kareena Kapoor) as she copes with the loss of her young son, Ekam (Mairaaj Kakkar). Amidst her grief, she is assigned to a case involving a missing boy, Ishpreet, who is around the same age as her late son.
Upon the film’s theatrical release, Kareena Kapoor expressed her pride in her “choices” on Instagram. She urged fans to watch the movie, inviting them into her world of crime and drama. Calling it a dream to both act in and produce such a project, she also shared behind-the-scenes photos from the set.
