September 2016: Instagram ne bna di jodi (the social media connect)
In the age of multiple dating websites and apps, Nick Jonas made his first interaction with Priyanka Chopra through Instagram DM. After watching PeeCee’s show ‘Quantico,’ he slid into her DM and wrote – “I’m hearing from a few mutual friends that we should meet.”
Recalling the same, during Call Her Daddy podcast In May 2023, Priyanka said, “The fact that he had the confidence to slide into my DMs and ask me out. I was like, what? I mean, people slide into my DMs, but no one has ever asked me…literally, like his message was, ‘I’ve been told we should meet.’ How cocky, so sexy.”
From there the two exchanged numbers and it was just the beginning of something big and beautiful.
February 26, 2017: Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas met for the first time
After leaving a digital imprint with their text messages, Nick and Priyanka finally met for the first time in person at the 2017 Vanity Fair Oscars party. As dramatic as it may sound, upon seeing his future wife for the first time, Nick couldn’t help but make a romantic gesture and went down on a knee for her as he asked for a drink. The filmy move worked and they did get together for a drink and chat.

Their next meeting happened months later when PeeCee and Nick were invited to attend the Met Gala with Ralph Lauren. That was the moment, in which they got a chance to know each other better.
After the Gala, Priyanka invited Nick to her apartment, where they hung out for a couple of hours. When Nick was leaving PeeCee anticipated a kiss from him, but instead “There was a back pat,” told Priyanka to Vougue. However, right then and there Nick had given his heart to Priyanka, at least that’s what his elder brother Joe Jonas told Vogue, “I think she [Chopra] kind of knocked him off his feet. He was just this little puppy dog.”
May & June 2018: Priyanka and Nick officially started dating
On Memorial Day Weekend in May 2018, PeeCee and Nick attended Beauty and the Beast Live in Concert at the Hollywood Bowl. The concert was followed by them spending the remainder of the holiday weekend together.
Then a month later, their social media flirtation caught attention. The exchange of comments on their respective posts made the public wonder what was cooking.
Thereafter, in early June, Priyanka was Nick’s plus-one at his cousin’s wedding, where they were spotted walking arm-in-arm. They were also spotted enjoying dinner together in New York City. The public spotting was followed by Jonas flying to India with Chopra to meet her mom.
July 19, 2018: Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas got engaged
Merely two months after their official dating, reports came out that Nick had proposed to Priyanka. This chapter of their lives unfolded on a vacation in Crete, where the couple celebrated Priyanka’s birthday.
Nick Jonas waited until midnight to pop the question, and then with a cushion-cut diamond flanked by tapered baguettes, he made things official with Priyanka.
December 1, 2018: Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas got married
The big day in their relationship came when they officially tied the knot at the lavish Umaid Bhawan Palace in Rajasthan, where Nick Jonas’ dad officiated the Western ceremony. Then the couple hosted a special Hindu ceremony and the celebration was a weekend-long soiree.
In an interview with PEOPLE, Priyanka Chopra revealed, “I love that our wedding was a religious mash-up. We took beautiful traditions that we both grew up with and personalized them in a way that made sense for us. It’s been incredible to find the commonalities between our beliefs and figuring out how to blend them in a respectful and meaningful way.”
February 2019: Priyanka Chopra appeared in the Jonas Brothers’ music video
It was just two months into married life, and the couple made a professional appearance together as well. Priyanka appeared in the music video for the newly reunited Jonas Brothers’ song, ‘Sucker.’ She shared the spotlight with Kevin’s wife, Danielle, and Joe’s now ex-wife, Sophie Turner.

A year later, PeeCee appeared in the Jonas Brothers’ ‘What a Man Gotta Do’ music video. The couple was seen recreating a scene from 1983’s Risky Business in the video
January 15, 2022: Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas welcomed their daughter Malti Marie
Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas embraced parenthood in 2022 when they announced the birth of their daughter, a baby girl named Malti Marie. They took to their social media to share that the little one was born via surrogate and also asked for “privacy during this special time as we focus on our family.”
January 25, 2023: Priyanka Chopra revealed that she and Nick Jonas have matching tattoos
Next year, in an interview with British Vogue, Priyanka Chopra revealed that she and her husband have matching tattoos. “I have a check and a box behind my ears. My husband has them on his arms because when he proposed, he asked me, that I checked all his boxes, and would I check another one?”
