Salman and Shah Rukh Khan’s friendship dates back to the 1990s, with notable collaborations in films like Karan Arjun and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.
However, their relationship hit a rough patch following an incident at Katrina Kaif’s birthday party in 2008, leading to a period of silence between them. Reports suggest that they mended their relationship in 2013.
Reflecting on this reunion, Badshah recounted the experience during his podcast with Raj Shamani.
“I met Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan at the backstage of an award show. I think they’d just had their patch up, apparently. I remember my manager telling me, ‘Shah Rukh sir is calling you’. I went to meet him, Salman sir was also there. They were talking to each other, I was standing there looking at them. Later, food was served, and they fed me biryani. They were sharing anecdotes with each other, and I was listening to them. Then I had to leave.”
Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan are often seen as the epitome of friendship in the Hindi film industry. Both of these men continue to be leading superstars, ruling the industry. Shah Rukh has maintained a close bond with Salman since the early days of his career. He once reminisced about his initial days in Mumbai, recalling how Salman’s family looked after him. Taking a look down memory lane, during his appearance on Salman Khan’s show, ‘Dus Ka Dum‘ in 2018, Shah Rukh Khan spoke about his struggling days when he first arrived in Bombay (now Mumbai). SRK shared that Salman’s family took great care of him during that time.
King Khan humorously noted that Salman is younger than him by 1.5 months. “Lekin (Salman ne) bade bhai se bhi zyada aur inki family ne mera bahot dhyan rakha. Aur sirf dhakke hi nahin khaayein maine inke ghar ka khaana bhi khaaya hai (Salman took care of me more like an elder brother along with his family and I didn’t just struggle, I have also eaten homecooked food at his house).”
