Ranbir Kapoor had earlier opened up on his relationship with his wife, Alia Bhatt, discussing how she has made more changes in her life for him than he has for her.
During an old interview on the podcast ‘People WTF’ with Nikhil Kamath, Ranbir described Alia as not just his wife, but his best friend, saying that they share a deep connection, laughing, chatting, and even joking around together. “Romance, to me, is watching movies, laughing, and just being ourselves,” Ranbir explained, expressing how lucky he feels to have married someone so close to him as a friend.
Recalling their early days, Ranbir shared that he first met Alia when she was only nine years old, during a photoshoot for a film that ultimately wasn’t made. However, the two reconnected in 2018 while filming ‘Brahmāstra: Part One – Shiva’, where their connection blossomed into a relationship. Ranbir was aware of Alia’s long-standing admiration for him, noting that her crush on him was a well-known topic in the media before they got together. After dating and living together for four years, the couple tied the knot in April 2022 and now share a daughter, Raha Kapoor.
Ranbir couldn’t stop praising Alia’s qualities, calling her “a wonderful person” and “a colorful personality.” He shared that she is also very ambitious and talented, and as an actor and artist, she constantly inspires him. He added that while Alia is usually very focused on her work, he has learned how to get her attention, noting that she has put in more effort than him to adjust in their marriage.
Ranbir admitted that Alia has made changes to accommodate their relationship, something he has noticed and appreciates. He said, “I should acknowledge that she has made more adjustments for me than I have for her.” Reflecting on the ways she has changed for him, he recognized that he should make more efforts himself and “change a bit” to balance things. He also shared how happy he feels just being with her, whether at home or on vacation, saying she brings him a unique sense of joy and contentment.
Ranbir’s candid words highlight the deep friendship and admiration at the core of their relationship, and he openly appreciates Alia’s efforts to nurture their bond.
