Though the 2024 US presidential elections are over but not controversies surrounding the same. In a recent turn of events, a report started doing the rounds that Beyonce took a whopping amount of $10 million for endorsing Kamala Harris at her campaign rally. These rumors have been put to rest by her mother Tina Knowles, who said Beyonce didn’t take a single penny for supporting the Vice President.
It all started after conservative commentator Candance Owens claimed that several stars took a good amount of money for endorsing Kamala Harris. He suggested that though the reports are unverified, the fact that Kamala Harris’ campaign is silent over the whole matter the claims must have some truth.
Taking to Instagram, Tina Knowles refuted the claims in a detailed post.
“So this has been flagged as fake news on Instagram and removed. It’s called false information. Unfortunately, other platforms with a lack of integrity are still doing it,” she mentioned.
“The lie is that Beyonce was paid $10 million to speak at a rally in Houston for Vice President Kamala Harris. When in fact it is true: Beyoncé did not receive a cent for her speech at the Rally of a presidential candidate, Vice President Kamala Harris in Houston. In fact, she actually paid for her own flights for her and her team and total Glam,” stated Tina Knowles.
“Not only are they lying and disrespecting Beyonce’s name, but they are trying to further discredit the power of our Vice President! When will the lies and rumors stop? Of course you don’t see this in the news!!!,” she mentioned.
This isn’t the only celebrity who is being accused of getting paid for endorsing Harris. Earlier, reports were doing the rounds that Oprah Winfrey received $1 million for hosting a live-streamed town hall with Harris. Oprah refuted the claims clarifying that the production company was only given the operational costs such as lighting, set design, and crew wages. A few days back, Cardi B also found herself in the mid of similar allegations and she took to social media to put them all to rest.
