Vedaa Box Office Day 14: The John Abraham starrer earns only Rs 2.85 crore in second week | Hindi Movie News Filmymeet

John Abraham’s box office woes persist, as his latest film Vedaa joins the list of underperforming films, including Satyameva Jayate 2, Attack, and Ek Villain Returns. His sole recent success remains Pathaan with Shah Rukh Khan.The makers of the film released it on 15th August to cash on the extended Independence Day weekend, and thereby clashed with Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao’s Stree 2, and Akshay Kumar led Khel Khel Mein.The film ultimately got massively affected and was able to earn only Rs 17.6 crore.

In the second week, while Stree 2 continued its dominance, Vedaa kept on slipping with every passing day except the weekend, where it saw a little spike. On second Friday, the film earned only Rs 30 lakh, while Saturday collection stood at Rs 55 lakh, and Sunday was Rs 80 lakh. On Monday, the film earned Rs 45 lakh, while Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday collections were at Rs 29 lakh, Rs 26 lakh and Rs 23 lakh respectively, thus taking the second week collection to Rs 2.85 crore and total collection to Rs 20.48 crore.
Though there are no big releases taking place till 6th September, which will see Kangana Ranaut’s directorial venture Emergency coming out, Vedaa doesn’t seem like to get any benefit.

John Abraham’s next film is Tehran, where he stars alongside Manushi Chhillar. He is also expected to join Housefull 5, produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, with Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Fardeen Khan, and Boman Irani. Meanwhile, Sharvari, the lead in Vedaa, is currently filming Alpha with Alia Bhatt. Hrithik Roshan is set to make a cameo in it, expanding YRF’s Spy Universe.
