John Abraham and Sharvari’s latest film Vedaa, directed by Nikkhil Advani, seems to be on the last leg of its theatrical run, with its collection just about managing to reach double digits. The film adds to the long list of underperformers for John like like Satyameva Jayate 2, Attack, and Ek Villain Returns with Pathaan being his only exception, where he played the antagonist to Shah Rukh Khan.

Vedaa clashed with Stree 2, and Khel Khel Mein over the Independence Day weekend, hindering its performance. In the first two weeks, the film earned only Rs 20.75 crore.
On the third Friday, the film earned only Rs 12 lakh, while Saturday saw more than a 100 % jump to collect Rs 25 lakh, and Sunday saw an even higher jump to collect Rs 35 lakh. Monday onwards, the film’s collection dropped drastically to collect Rs 12 lakh on Monday, Rs 13 lakh on Tuesday and Rs 11 lakh on Wednesday, as per early estimates by Sacnilk, thus taking the total collection of the film to Rs 21.83 crore.
With the postponement of Kangana Ranaut’s Emergency from its 6th September release date, Vedaa will get a chance to reduce its losses but only by a bit. The film is also facing competition from old films being released, like Laila Majnu, Gangs of Wasseypur and Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein.

John Abraham’s next film is going to be Tehran with Manushi Chhillar. He is also expected to join Housefull 5, produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, with Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Fardeen Khan, and Boman Irani. Meanwhile, Sharvari, is currently filming Alpha with Alia Bhatt. Hrithik Roshan is set to make a cameo in it, expanding YRF’s Spy Universe.
