The talented Bollywood director Nikkhil Advani recently faced a setback as his most anticipated John Abraham starrer failed to perform well at the box office. Recently the director revealed that the horror comedy ‘Stree 2’ success was the real reason why ‘Vedaa’ flopped at the box office.

Talking to PTI, Nikkhil Advani said that ‘Vedaa’ hit the big screens along with the horror film ‘Stree 2’ on August 15 and this clash ‘Gobbled’ them up. The director also added that when someone asked him what could have changed for the John Abraham starrer so that it could have worked well at the box office, he replied by saying, “I could’ve just changed that Stree 2 was not a good film,” indicating that the Rajkummar Rao starrer had really affected the movie’s success.

Nikkhil Advani was pretty confident that they made a good film, but ‘Vedaa’ couldn’t withstand the competition it faced from ‘Stree 2’. He added that his duty as a director is to tell a story that people have entrusted him to convey and he did that job pretty well. Nikkhil also hailed ‘Stree 2’ as an incredible movie that the audiences preferred, especially after the depressing times of Covid.
Nikkhil did not hide his feelings for the actors in ‘Vedaa’ who did a lot of hard work for the movie that performed poorly at the box office. Reacting to the audiences who said that ‘Vedaa’ had good action in the second half, the ‘D-Day’ director said that if there was no action in the movie it would have been a drama movie that tells about Dalit atrocities and their rights.
