The Tamil film ‘Vettaiyan‘ is an action drama and the movie has been released in theatres today. Directed by TJ Gnanavel, the movie has an ensemble cast of Rajinikanth, Amitabh Bachchan, Rana Daggubati, Fahadh Faasil, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, Dushara Vijayan, Abhirami, Rohini among others and the music for it is composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
The film has been receiving mixed reviews from audiences and Sacnilk reported that the film has managed to gross Rs 5 crore at the box office till 10 am in India.The movie already made Rs 10 crore in pre-sales and advance ticket booking and it also made $2 million in North America. It is expected that the film will perform well over the first weekend and experts stated that the film will gross Rs 125 crore on day 1 of its collection.
The movie has been released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi and trade analyst Girish Johar speaking to Film Beat stated that the Hindi release is getting a good response from the audience as it marks the collaboration of Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan – two superstar actors after 33 years and added that it has already grossed Rs 3 crore with the Hindi version of the film.
