Vicky Kaushal left fans swooning with his dance moves in Tauba Tauba from Bad Newz. Beyond his dapper looks, the actor is all set to dish out a good dose of comedy as well in the movie. Tarun Dudeja, the writer of Bad News, recently opened up about the hilarious Katrina Kaif reference in the trailer.
Translating humor from paper to screen is a challenging task, but Dudeja credits the film’s lead actors – Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri, and Ammy Virk – for elevating the comedy with their terrific comic timing.One of the most hilarious sequences in the Bad Newz trailer is a joke where Kaushal’s character tells Ammy that he’ll have to pass over his dead body to rip apart a poster of Kaushal’s real-life wife, Katrina Kaif. Dudeja told mid-day Vicky’s reaction to the joke, “It was there in the script. We wanted some Vicky jokes. More than us, he laughed at this joke. He also performed the scene with utmost conviction. His dialogue delivery makes it funnier than it is.”
Dudeja also recalled being introduced to the story three years ago. The film, directed by Anand Tiwari, is centered around the rare medical condition of heteropaternal superfecundation, where a woman becomes pregnant with twins from different fathers. Bad Newz gears up for a theatrical release on July 19, 2024. With its unique premise, seasoned cast, and the director’s vision to balance humor and emotion, Bad Newz promises to be a refreshing addition to the comedy genre in Bollywood.
