‘Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video‘ was making a number of around Rs 1 crore or more on each day from its second Monday onwards. The film had seen a jump over the second weekend but started seeing a gradual dip from Monday onwards. The Rajkummar Rao starrer did have more potential to work in more two-tier, three-tier centres but the trade feels that the movie’s title gave the vibe of it not being a family film. Thus, this also resulted in lower footfalls along with the mixed reviews.
On Wednesday and Thursday, the movie started falling below the Rs 1 crore mark. It made Rs 90 lakhs on Wednesday which was a drop of around 18 percent. On Thursday, it made Rs 80 lakhs. The total collection of the movie so far is now Rs 37.20 crore, according to Sacnilk. The film still has time up till November 1, till Rohit Shetty’s ‘Singham Again‘ and Anees Bazmee’s ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3‘ releases. Both these movies have an impressive ensemble and will be a tough competition to each other. Till then, ‘Jigra‘ and ‘Vicky Vidya…’ still have an open window and some scope to bring in those numbers.
‘Vicky Vidya…’ may end up with a lifetime collection of Rs 42 crore which is more than Rajkummar’s ‘Mr and Mrs Mahi’ which saw him alongside Janhvi Kapoor. Though, it will be less than another release of his – ‘Srikanth’ which got rave reviews and thus surprised everyone with its box office numbers.
