The Tamil film ‘GOAT‘ aka ‘Greatest of All Time’ is set for its release in theatres on September 5 and the movie has a huge anticipation. Directed by Venkat Prabhu, the film stars Vijay in the lead role and the movie according to the industry tracker Sacnilk is said to make a huge opening at the box office.
Vijay’s previous film ‘Leo‘ made a gross of Rs 76 crore on the opening day, and the same is set as the benchmark for ‘GOAT’.The movie has already sold tickets wirth Rs 11 crore on day 1 and the seats for the film through advanced booking has been blocked in Tamil and Telugu states. As the film is also releasing in IMAX, the pre-sales amount is high. The movie is already said to have made Rs 16 crore at the pre-sales in Tamil Nadu and in US, the movie has grossed more than Rs 5.5 crore which means that it has made more than Vijay’s ‘Beast‘
Apart from Tamil Nadu, the movie in pre-sales has made Rs 1.3 crore in Kera;a, Rs 3.4 crore in Karnataka and Rs 4 lakh in Maharashtra and Rs 2 lakh in Delhi according to Sacnilk. Though the film is releasing only in Tamil, it has a pan Indian response as it is suspected to be the last film in Vijay’s career before the actor enters into politics.
