During the show, Oprah asked why Aishwarya had never kissed on-screen, and the ‘Devdas’ actress leaned toward Abhishek and playfully encouraged him, saying, “Go on, baby.” Abhishek planted a kiss on her cheek.

Abhishek explained the cultural difference regarding on-screen kissing in India. He mentioned that, unlike in the West, such scenes aren’t as common in Indian cinema. Instead of kisses, films often feature songs to express love. He noted, “A lot of the Indian audience doesn’t think it is required. To put it this way, if we create a scene where the boy meets a girl, they fall in love, and they want to express their love, they kiss.”
Abhishek also reminisced about his proposal to Aishwarya. He described how, while filming in New York, he would often stand on the balcony of his hotel and dream about marrying her. He later took her to that same balcony to pop the question. Aishwarya fondly recalled, “It was very sweet. It was very real at the same time.”
There have been reports about the couple ending their marriage, and the duo has been seen dispelling these rumors with their on-and-off gestures, including both wearing wedding rings, Aishwarya wishing Amitabh Bachchan on his birthday, and more.
