The Bollywood film “Biwi No. 1,” which celebrated its 25th anniversary on May 29 2024, featured Salman Khan, Karisma Kapoor, and Sushmita Sen in leading roles, supported by Anil Kapoor and Tabu.
Interestingly, according to a report in DNA, actor Govinda was initially considered for the film directed by David Dhawan. However, the role eventually went to Salman Khan after Govinda declined the project reportedly due to reservations about working with Sushmita Sen.
According to reports, director David Dhawan originally wanted Govinda to play the role of a husband who cheats in the movie.Govinda agreed to do the film but didn’t want to work alongside Sushmita Sen.
Another report suggests Govinda insisted on removing Sushmita from the cast. When the filmmakers refused, Govinda chose to leave the project. He returned the advance payment, stating he had already played similar roles in two films and was not keen on repeating the same character again.
In the meantime, Sushmita Sen and Salman Khan’s on-screen chemistry was widely appreciated. Talking about it, Sushmita told Indian Express that the line “Haye mera bachcha” wasn’t scripted. She thought the scene had ended and spontaneously hugged Salman, saying those words. The director, David Dhawan, decided to keep that unplanned moment in the film, making it a part of her natural expression.
