When Kangana Ranaut labelled Jaya Bachchan's objection to name usage in Parliament as ‘arrogance' Filmymeet

Kangana Ranaut, is a renowned actress turned politician, widely recognized for her candidness. Known for her unfiltered opinions, she expresses her views boldly and without hesitation. This outspoken nature has characterized her journey from a successful film career to her new role as a political figure.
Veteran actress Jaya Bachchan who is also a member of Parliament, had recently raised objections when she was referred to as “Jaya Amitabh Bachchan” during a session. In an argument with the Vice President of India and Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankar, Jaya stated, “Sir, simply saying Jaya Bachchan would have been enough.” Reacting to this incident, Kangana had weighed in on the situation during an interview with Fever FM. She criticized Jaya Bachchan’s reaction, calling it “arrogance.”
The ‘Queen’ actress had stated, “This is a very shameful thing that today, the beautiful differences between a man and a woman, as made by nature, is looked at as discrimination.” She expressed her belief that the current feminist discourse has taken a wrong turn, “In the name of feminism, people are going in an ugly direction… Society is going into an ugly direction” .
The ‘Manikarnika’ actress further elaborated on her views, describing the issue as “petty” and suggesting that the need for women to assert their individual identities in such a manner detracts from the beauty of familial bonds. She remarked, “This arrogance hasn’t spared even the beautiful bond within families. Humans should embrace each other and not dissect each other with this sort of harshness.” Kangana compared the reactions to a “panic attack,” adding, “People are simply flaring up with the name coming up like they’re getting a panic attack or something. And when they say, ‘My identity is taken over, I am destroyed’ I just feel sad”
Meanwhile on the work front, Kangana Ranaut’s political drama ‘Emergency‘, which was set to release on September 6, has been postponed due to pending CBFC certification. The film, featuring Ranaut as former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, also stars Shreyas Talpade, Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhry and Milind Soman. The new release date is yet to be announced.
