Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala got engaged in a private ceremony on August 8, 2024, at Nagarjuna’s Jubilee Hills home in Hyderabad. The couple has not publicly addressed their engagement, as they prefer to keep their relationship private. In the past, they’ve shown discomfort when asked about dating rumours, choosing to stay out of the public eye.Even with this important event, they continue to avoid the spotlight.
During the promotion of ‘Custody’ in May 2023, Naga Chaitanya expressed irritation about a ‘third party’ (referring to Sobhita Dhulipala) being mentioned in the context of his split from Samantha Ruth Prabhu. He told Prema, “I don’t care no matter what is being said about my work. But when it comes to my family, I feel hurt. I don’t mind when I’m being spoken about. But when they drag in my family or a third party, I feel that’s very wrong. To what level will we go to?”
He noted that, even though he split from Samantha in 2021, he was upset by the speculation surrounding the ‘third party’ (referring to Sobhita Dhulipala). He mentioned, “If you see the last two years, obviously what happened in my personal life, with my marriage, it’s very unfortunate. I have immense respect for that phase of my life. But rumours and speculation diminish that respect. It’s been a year since I’ve been divorced, but why are people still talking about it and linking a third person to it? It’s for no fault of their own.”
Around the same time, Sobhita Dhulipala spoke to NTV, emphasising that she is focused solely on her work. She remarked that nothing about her life has warranted such attention. Expressing gratitude, she mentioned how fortunate she feels to work on beautiful films. As a trained classical dancer, she highlighted the amazing experience of dancing to AR Rahman’s music in a Mani Ratnam film.
