Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia tied the knot in 1973 and at that time, the actress was just 15 years old. While it did seem like a fairy-tale romance, Dimple had said in an interview that she knew her marriage won’t work, the moment she entered Khanna’s house after marriage. In 1982, they started living separately but never got divorced. The ‘Bobby’ actress left Khanna’s house and started staying at her mother’s place along with her two daughters – Twinkle and Rinke Khanna.
Here’s recalling the time when Rajesh Khanna had once scolded Dimple when she gave him a suggestion.In a throbwack interview Rediff, the actress spoke about this intense moment with him. “It was very nice. The film shaped up very well, but there were financial problems. One time he was not well while we were shooting and he was supposed to come out on the balcony and wave to the press. I handed him my shawl and sunglasses and told him nicely, ‘Kakaji, when you go out, don’t look straight, your side profile looks better.’ He just looked up at me and said sternly, ‘Ab tum mujhe sikhaogi?”
Earlier, Dimple had also revealed that their marriage was not of the equals. Khanna passed away in 2012.
On work front, Dimple Kapadia is rocking the show with back-to-back solid projects and performances. She was seen in ‘Saas Bahu Aur Flamingo’ and ‘Murder Mubarak’ recently. The actress was also loved in Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon starrer ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’.
