Actress Divya Dutta recently opened up about the special bond that she shares with Salman Khan, who went out of his way to help her nail a scene when they were working together on the film ‘Veergati‘.
In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Divya Dutta recounted an incident where she struggled with a death scene in the film due to her claustrophobia, which prevented her from holding her breath for more than a few seconds.Despite multiple takes, the director, KK Singh, began to lose patience.
The actress described her inability to handle closed spaces or hold her breath, and how she had managed to complete the other scenes but was unable to get through the death scene. At 18 years old, she was scared of the strict director and took his scolding very seriously, having never been scolded even at home before.
Divya continued by explaining that Salman Khan, who had finished for the day and was sitting in his car, was informed by an assistant director about her struggle with the scene. Wanting to help, Salman came over. Since she had a huge crush on him, she was anxious about embarrassing herself. Salman sat opposite her and instructed her to follow his actions. He lay down next to her and guided her through the scene, telling her when he was holding his breath so she could do the same. As she focused on him, he counted for her, and even the director stepped back, knowing that Salman was in control. After about 10 seconds, Salman instructed her to close her eyes and breathe.
Divya added that, as a newcomer, this was a pivotal moment in her career, emphasizing that one never forgets those who support them in times of need. She then shared another story about Salman, saying she learned a lot from him and that he was very protective of her, often taking care of her and bringing food from home.
The ‘Badlapur’ actress also recounted a day when Salman called her over, offering to take her pictures. Initially, she thought he was pranking her, as he was known for his jokes, but soon realized he was serious. She noted that Salman was an excellent photographer, and he even had those pictures printed on a T-shirt and a mug.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Divya Dutta has some exciting projects lined up, including ‘Bandish Bandits 2’, ‘Ek Ruka Hua Faisla’, and ‘Chhaava’, among others.
